Policies and Strategies Document
Currently CMDA is following a policies and strategies document that is endorsed by the Board of Directors, pending the compilation of a Strategic Plan. The policies and strategies document is a live document that is updated as and when required.

CMDA Strategic Plan (Proposed)
CMDA is inviting interested parties to draft CMDA strategic plan (2010 to 2014). CMDA plans to have the strategic plan completed by the first quarter of 2010.
The proposed strategic plan will cover the following areas.
1. Mission, Vision, and Values
2. Strategic Goals and Outcomes
- Foster and enforce compliance with the securities laws and regulations
- Establish an effective regulatory environment
- Facilitate access to the information investors need, to make informed investment decisions
- Enhance the CMDA’s performance through effective alignment and management of human, information, and financial resources
- Include strategies for Capital Market and Corporate Governance Institute.
3. Environmental issues
Invitation for drafting CMDA strategic plan (2010 to 2014)Capital Market Master Plan (Proposed)
As per the discussions held with the Minister of Finance and Treasury in November 2009, the Authority is undertaking research to compile a Capital Market Master Plan. The plan will map out the direction of the Maldives Capital Market over the next five years. Invitations will be open in due course.
The Master Plan will take into account the following:
- Findings of proposed diagnostic studies,
- The fledging nature and size of the market and the limited population of Maldives.
- The role of a well functioning Maldives Capital Market and its value to the economic development of Maldives.
- Highlight effective ways to position the market and specify lthe required legal and regulatory and institutional infrastructure.
- A timetable with milestone for short meduim and long term.
