Essay Writing Competition 2008
To generate awareness about capital market and the importance of saving and investment, the CMDA has organized an essay writing competition open to all secondary schools in the Maldives on the topic, "How do I Achieve Financial Independence Through Saving and Investing".
The competition was held on 26th April 2008. Total of 260 students from 37 schools across the country participated in this competition. The students competed on under 16 and under 21 age categories.
The awarding ceremony of the Essay Writing Competition was held on 25th August 2008. The winners of this years competition are:
Under 16 Age Category:
3rd place: Aiminath Haleem of Muhibbuddin School
2nd place: Khadheeja Arufa of ADh. Atoll Education Centre
3rd place: ADh. Atoll Education Centre
Under 21 Age Category:
3rd place: Ali Hassan of Jalaaluddin School

Quiz Competition 2008
With the purpose of generating awareness amongst the students about the capital market, the CMDA in collaboration with the Voice of Maldives organized an inter school Quiz competition in 2008. The Competition was held from 25th March to 7th April 2008. Ten schools from Male' competed in this competition. The schools that participated in this competition include, Madhurasathul Ahmadiyya, Muhyiddin School, Ghazee School, Madhurasathul Ameer Ahmed, Majeedhiya School, Maafannu Madharusa, Male' English School, Dharumavantha School, English Preparatory and Secondary School and Aminiya School.
The winner of this year's competition is Majeedhiya School and Dharumavantha School.
Quizzes, Essay competitions and other awareness programs are scheduled to be held in 2009. The information will be out by end of December 2008.
