The idea of a regional index for the South Asian countries was conceived by SAFE in early 2006. CMDA supported the idea of the index at the very initial stage and cordinated with SAFE for the last 2 years to provide information as required by SAFE.
Information about Maldivian Stock Market and Listed Companies are included in the SAFE-Dow Jones Index. The Index shall not only provide an overview of the performance of SAFE equity markets as a regional grouping, but also serve as an underlying tool for the development of new investment products.
